I'm attaching a copy of my checksur log in hopes I can get this issue resolved. Error 0x800B0100 when you try to install Windows Updates or Microsoft Updates What anti-virus & firewall are you running?

If an Internet Security Suite, remove it & try SP1 again.

I was offered a fix for this: Windows6.1-KB947821-v12-x64. The System Update Readiness Tool can correct some conditions that cause this error.

I think you should have to change settings for windows updates to this way got to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\Change settings and set the 2nd option from drop down menu "Download Updates but let me choose whether to install them." If you receive the Windows Update error 800b0100, it means that a file needed by Windows Update is not registered with Windows correctly.

Use removal tool - Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase Reboot upon completion. jcgriff2 F-Secure gone using uninstaller from the post you linked.
